Floral Friday – Gardenia

This beautiful white flower is growing on a lovely bush in my yard, along with many other blooms on the bush. Best known for their fragrant white flowers, gardenias are heat-loving evergreen shrubs that have become a gardening symbol in the Southeast US.   Flowering is from about mid-spring to mid-summer.  Gardenias are native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, southern Asia, Australasia and Oceania.

I hope you enjoy my gardenia!
